#### Background

HR departments have to manually draft a high volume of customized reference letters and this takes up time that could be spent on value added work. In order to comply with strict country specific legal requirements, HR departments need to ensure that reference letters contain specific information based on the place of work and employment type. While the general structure and content is often predefined by the legal departments, the overall process starting with obtaining an assessment of the employee’s performance and re-writing the assessment to make it legally compliant, is not automated.

The HR user is guided through an interactive questionnaire and starts with requesting information from an employee’s former supervisor. Via a DocuSign integration, the reference letter is sent to the authorized internal signatory and a signed version is shared with the employee via email.
