Service Description of BEAMON-License types
1. Scope and relationship to other contract documents
1.1 This Service Description specifies the functional scope of the BEAMON license types (Single, Team and Pro). It forms part of the contractual terms accepted by Customer and applies to each Order Form as well as to any agreement concluded via self-service that references it in the version stated therein.
1.2 The license type, the number of Authors, the Subscription Term and any additionally ordered Add-on Features are set out in the applicable Order Form or self-service agreement.
1.3 Capitalized terms used but not defined herein shall have the meaning set out in the MSA and the Definitions. As set out in the Definitions, BEAMON AI includes the two basic features BEAMON Assist and BEAMON Extract and is an AI Service within the meaning of section 12 of the MSA. In case of any conflict between an Order Form and this Service Description, the terms of the Order Form shall prevail. To the extent this Service Description expressly governs the functional scope or consumption parameters of the BEAMON license types, it shall prevail over the general provisions of the MSA in that respect; the MSA shall otherwise remain authoritative.
2. Definitions
2.1 „BEAMON Basic Features“ means the core functionality included in every BEAMON license type as set out in section 4.
2.2 „BEAMON Add-on-Features“ means functionality that is not included in all license types or that must be ordered separately (section 5), and which applies only where expressly set out in the Order Form or self-service agreement.

¹ The Otto Schmidt API requires a separate Otto Schmidt subscription maintained by Customer in all cases. For Single and Team it is available as a chargeable Add-on Feature; for Pro, API access is included in the license scope. “–” means not included.
4. BEAMON Basic Features (all license types)
4.1 Chats (AI): AI-powered legal chats with no quantitative limit, subject to the fair-use provisions in section 12.3 of the MSA (in particular the Consumption Limit pursuant to section 12.3.2).
4.2 Assist: an AI assistant for the drafting, analysis and legal research of documents.
4.3 Extract: review and extraction of structured data from multiple documents.
4.4 Custom assistants / profiles: built-in assistants together with the ability to create custom assistants to automate recurring legal tasks; for Team and Pro these may additionally be shared across the team.
4.5 Projects: creation of projects for structured data extraction with no quantitative limit.
4.6 Word-Add-in: AI-powered drafting and editing directly within Microsoft Word.
5. Add-on Features and license dependent funtionality
5.1 Shared projects & central prompt library (Team and Pro): shared use of projects, documents and data structures, together with a central prompt library for team coordination.
5.2 Workflows (Pro only): automation of multi-step legal workflows via the Workflow Builder. The use of a BEAMON-Generated Workflow is permitted only by BEAMON Authors. The restrictions set out in Section 4.2 of the Master Service Agreement apply.
5.3 SSO (Pro only): enterprise-grade Single Sign-On for centralized identity management.
5.4 SharePoint integration (Pro only).
5.5 Otto Schmidt API: direct API access to the Otto Schmidt database as set out in the footnote to section 3; conditional upon a valid Otto Schmidt subscription maintained by Customer.
5.6 Any further Add-on Features or deviations expressly agreed in an Order Form or self-service agreement shall prevail over this Service Description to the extent of such agreement.
6. Support und service levels
6.1 Use of the Software is limited to the Scope set out in the Order Form or self-service agreement, in particular to the number of Authorized Users per license type stated therein. Each Authorized User shall have their own individual login and password and shall not share their Account (section 2.4 of the MSA).
6.2 Where Customer exceeds the agreed Scope, BRYTER shall be entitled, pursuant to section 4.1 of the MSA, to invoice the excess usage at BRYTER’s then applicable standard rates.
7. Scope of Use, Authors and Excess Usage
7.1 Use of the Software is limited to the scope of use set out in the Order Form or Self-Service Agreement, in particular to the number of Authors per license type specified therein. Each Author receives their own credentials (login and password); sharing credentials or jointly using a single account is not permitted (Section 2.4 of the Master Agreement).
7.2 If the Customer exceeds the agreed scope of use, BRYTER is entitled, pursuant to Section 4.1 of the Master Agreement, to invoice the excess usage at the then-current standard rates.
7.3 Each Author may consume no more than 25,000,000 tokens per calendar month for the use of BEAMON AI (the “Author Consumption Limit“). The Author Consumption Limit applies uniformly across all BEAMON license types (Single, Team and Pro). It replaces, for the use of BEAMON AI, the general per-Tenant, per-day Consumption Limit under section 12.3.2 of the MSA, which shall not apply to the use of BEAMON AI; the remaining fair-use provisions under section 12.3 of the MSA are otherwise unaffected. Token consumption arising from the execution of a BEAMON-Generated Workflow shall count against the Author Consumption Limit of the BEAMON Author who executes that workflow. If an Author reaches the Author Consumption Limit, BRYTER may block that Author’s further token consumption until the beginning of the next calendar month. Any such block does not constitute Downtime within the meaning of the Support and Maintenance Services and shall be disregarded in calculating service availability. The governance of access to and selection of AI models via BRYTER Credits (section 8.4 of the MSA) and the provisions on Premium Models (section 12.4 of the MSA) remain unaffected.
8. Changes and versioning
8.1 BRYTER is constantly improving and updating the Software and may, pursuant to section 10.4 of the MSA, update, modify or add new features to certain elements of the Software, provided that the agreed scope of the relevant license type is not materially reduced. Customer shall always have access to the latest version of the Software.
8.2 This Service Description is versioned. The version stated in an agreement applies to that agreement; later versions apply only upon a (renewal) agreement or Order Form referencing them.
