BRYTER, the legal automation company, announces the launch of BEAMON AI, a new suite of AI tools for lawyers.
BEAMON AI offers AI solutions to support legal work: Assist — a chat-based assistant that supports legal professionals; Draft — a Microsoft Word based drafting solution, including redlining and comparison of documents; and Extract — a diligence solution for high volume contract and document review.
The key innovation behind BEAMON is its ability to deliver actionable AI. BEAMON merges AI and legal workflows, enabling lawyers to automate entire tasks from start to finish. AI handles the analysis; workflows handle the execution. This innovation unlocks a number of specific, vertical use cases enabling law firms and in-house legal teams to automate more of their work and processes — from claims processing and document repapering to file-to-database processing and document review processes.
BEAMON AI is a full suite of AI tools tailored for legal use. In addition to using state-of-the-art LLMs, BEAMON AI focuses specifically on understanding the legal queries and the orchestration of actions based on a user’s request (Intent Awareness). BEAMON’s deep understanding allows the AI to “read every line”, instead of only reading summaries and chunks. For a range of tasks that legal users have requested, like benchmarking against playbooks, timeline generation and comparing documents, BEAMON will select the most suitable and powerful approach, agent and model.
Unlike any other co-pilot solution or virtual legal assistant, BEAMON AI is integrated with a workflow platform enabling users to not only benefit from AI capabilities, but also to execute end-to-end legal processes. This “Actionable AI” concept expands the intellectual capabilities of AI to performing tasks and really solving for the problem.
“The real value of automation is focusing on the task — not the person. And we want to offer the option to solve some tasks end-to-end.” Michael Grupp, CEO, BRYTER explains. “We see that the combination of AI tools with a dedicated workflow toolkit gives a unique offering that is requested by lawyers but not currently available. After the hype around chat and flexible AI-driven productivity tools, we believe that the future is use case focused, vertical, and more individual. Current GenAI-solutions have not been built with additional actions in mind. BEAMON AI is different: it is built specifically to make AI actionable within legal workflows.”
Several features of BEAMON AI connect to workflow components, allowing users to extract data and/or provide information, and also to use this information in onward actions. This is needed in many legal workflows including document generation, operational workflows (like approval workflows), or for third party actions (like email and e-signature) or database connections.
BEAMON offers out-of-the-box templates and pre-built apps for common legal workflows. These include:
- Claims processing app: process a claim and generate a response or process court-filed documents
- File-to-timeline converter for claims, files, and databases
- Billing guidelines workflow to review and correct invoices and matter descriptions
- Commercial document reviewer for standard contracts like NDAs and DPAs
- ISDA review
- Administrative Document handling for public processes/procedures (e.g. PPP-Applications, public filings, insolvency)
BRYTER, the company that launches BEAMON, was founded in 2018 as the platform to automate legal workflows. Over the past seven years legal engineers and legal operations professionals have used the BRYTER Workflow platform to build powerful applications to solve specific use cases: whether that’s a whistleblowing compliance tool, a contract review workflow with in-built risk assessments and document automation, or client portals. With GenAI has come faster, easier, more accessible and more affordable technology which BRYTER makes available to its existing and growing customer base.
International law firm, Luther, has been one of the first to get access to BEAMON and has formed a strategic partnership with BRYTER to develop AI-driven tools for their clients. Other customers include international law firms like McDermott Will & Emery and Hausfeld, and in-house legal teams at global brands like Rakuten, who are already using BRYTER’s AI tools to work more efficiently.
