BRYTER hires Joanna Sidhu, former Ashurst lawyer and Legl’s Head of Growth to lead the community platform and its global rollout.
London, September 28th, 2020
BRYTER Open gives non-profits and academic institutions free access to our no-code platform as part of our vision of enabling all experts to deliver knowledge at scale. Since launching the BRYTER Open program this summer we have received hundreds of applications from organizations looking at how they can use our technology in socially impactful ways.
Given the level of demand we have created a dedicated team to run the global rollout of the program and we are excited to announce that Joanna Sidhu joins us as Head of BRYTER Open. In this new position based in London, Joanna will be responsible for managing operations and leading the strategic rollout, globally.
Putting powerful technology into the hands of those making an impact
From the very beginning, our vision has been to enable experts to deliver knowledge at scale. This meant we first needed to build a powerful and enterprise-grade software, which could be used by some of the world’s largest organizations. Our technology needed to be both intuitive for those without coding skills to use, and powerful enough to enable the seamless and rapid delivery of expertise.
Central to this vision is supporting our community: giving academic institutions the tools they need to educate the next generation of business professionals, leveraging our technology to help increase access to justice and empowering individuals with knowledge disseminated at scale.
BRYTER has experienced rapid, international and cross-sector growth demonstrating a clear and increasing need for automation and digital solutions across industries. In the non-commercial space, this has been especially true for the academic area, where we have worked closely with universities including York, Goettingen and Kings College, London.
Joanna Sidhu to lead the BRYTER Open team
As Head of BRYTER Open Joanna will lead the team in supporting the integration, rollout and adoption of our technology within academic institutions and non-profit organizations across the world.
Joanna has over ten years of experience in the legal and technology sectors and has gained a deep understanding of how technology can support the delivery of professional services. She joins us from the legal tech company CrowdJustice, and its parent company Legl, where she was responsible for relationships with the legal community, strategic partnerships and growth efforts.
Before joining CrowdJustice and Legl Joanna trained and qualified at Ashurst where she practiced as a litigation solicitor for five years. Joanna had extensive experience working for energy companies and financial services intuitions on English High Court litigation, international arbitration and financial regulatory investigations. While at Ashurst, Joanna was deeply committed to pro bono initiatives including a strategic pro bono initiative reuniting unaccompanied refugee children with their UK family. Joanna read law at the University of Oxford and is a qualified solicitor of England and Wales.
“Joanna impressed us with a profile that perfectly fits the new role. In working at Ashurst in London, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of both the legal and professional services markets. In addition to this, she has acquired and proven a deep understanding of technology, business operations and a passion for entrepreneurship in her previous role. Joanna has worked extensively with non-profits and NGOs on using technology with great success, which is both incredibly valuable and rare”, says Michael Grupp, CEO of BRYTER. “We are excited to welcome her as the Head of BRYTER Open.”
“I believe in the potential for technology to level the playing field. BRYTER is leading the way with its no code platform. When non-profits, grassroot organizations and academic institutions have access to this incredibly powerful technology, the potential for change is huge. I am delighted to be joining BRYTER to lead the global rollout of the community platform and to give experts access to technology tools to empower their users with knowledge at scale”, says Joanna Sidhu, Head of BRYTER Open.
