BRYTER hires Private Equity Lawyer Konstantin Heilmann to lead in-house legal team
Frankfurt/London, May 25th, 2020
We are happy to announce the hire of Konstantin Heilmann as Senior Legal Counsel and Head of Legal of our company.
In this new position, Konstantin Heilmann takes over the management of the legal department and internal legal support at BRYTER. We are now represented in all major European markets with offices in Frankfurt, Berlin and London, and with plans to open an office in New York City this year. The USA is an increasingly relevant market for us and we already count a significant proportion of the legal market as our customer base including, Dentons, Baker McKenzie, Hogan Lovells, McDermott Will & Emery along with companies, such as TechData. BRYTER’s rapid, international and cross-sector growth means that legal advice and organization has become increasingly important to the daily operations of our business, requiring an in-house team.
Konstantin Heilmann has many years of experience in providing legal advice, especially to technology companies. Most recently, he worked for several years as a lawyer in the private equity team of Clifford Chance.
During his studies in Berlin and New York he worked for Freshfields, Leverton and the venture capital company, Earlybird. At BRYTER, Heilmann will lead the company’s in-house team in close cooperation with the founders.
Konstantin will work mainly from Berlin. His responsibilities include the management of external consultants, software and licensing issues as well as M&A and financing. In the future, the legal department will grow by additional lawyers, who will work from London and New York. Although there are now several lawyers working with BRYTER already, including Johannes Maurer, Sam Spivack, Sharan Kaur and the founders Michael Grupp and Micha-Manuel Bues, Konstantin will be the first full-time legal position.
Michael Grupp, CEO of BRYTER, commented: “Konstantin is an excellent lawyer with many years of private equity experience. In addition to his corporate legal practice, he has also worked in technology companies and on the investor side. This combination makes him the ideal internal advisor for BRYTER”.
Micha-Manuel Bues, CCO at BRYTER, adds: “Strategic, proactive legal advice is increasingly essential for a growth company in the international consulting environment. We now have employees in 5 time zones and clients in 20 countries, as well as an international group of investors and – due to the growth – constantly changing conditions. In Konstantin, we have found the right advisor for the legal design of this environment.
