At BRYTER, our people make us who we are. In this series, we spotlight the brilliant minds behind our global team.
This time, we sat down with Rupinder “Pin” Mahay, a key player in our Customer Success Team. Since joining BRYTER in 2021 (starting in London and now based in Miami), Pin has helped shape how we enable our customers. Here’s her journey, her insights into day-to-day life at BRYTER, and her thoughts on the future of Legal AI.
Tell us about your first encounter with BRYTER or a BRYTER employee.
Pin: Before BRYTER, I was looking for a tool to improve workflows at my previous company when I came across BRYTER — and noticed they were hiring! After speaking with a passionate recruiter and meeting the team, I knew I had to be part of it.
Fast forward, I got the role and walked into the London office the very next day — with my dog, Theo. The team welcomed both of us with open arms, and now Theo is an honorary BRYTER team member too!

What’s the number one reason you’d recommend BRYTER as a place to work?
Pin: I’m incredibly passionate about our products. They’re cutting-edge, easy to use, and genuinely make a difference for our customers. That makes my job so much easier — and more fulfilling.
On top of that, the flexibility of working remotely has had a huge impact on my well-being and work-life balance. I feel more motivated, energized, and able to go above and beyond in my role.
What trends in Legal Tech should we be watching?
Pin: AI-driven workflows — which, fortunately, we’re already pioneering!
Have you recently attended a conference or event on behalf of BRYTER?
Pin: The last event I attended was ILTACON in Nashville, and as always, our booth, branding, and swag were a hit — even with unexpected prospects! Huge shoutout to our Marketing team for making us stand out.

What’s your favorite onsite memory?
Pin: Karaoke with the team! It’s amazing to see everyone in a relaxed environment (and funny). My favourite onsite was in Lewes — beautiful location and a lot to do with Theo being able to come along too!

What’s your favourite remote work memory? What are the perks of being remote-first?
Pin: Sometimes, our Customer Success team schedules silent work sessions where we just sit on a call and work together — kind of like a virtual office. It’s a small thing, but it really fosters connection.
Being remote-first also gives us true work-life balance. For me, being able to work from another country while staying fully connected has been a game-changer.
What makes BRYTER unique? How is it different from other companies you’ve worked for?
Pin: The culture. While we respect leadership, there’s no rigid hierarchy — we’re encouraged to approach and collaborate with anyone. That openness makes all the difference.

What work are you most proud of?
Pin: The relationships I’ve built with my clients. I go the extra mile to support them, whether that means working late to accommodate different time zones or simply being someone they can trust. Those connections are what drive customer success.
How does cross-functional collaboration work at BRYTER?
Pin: I work closely with Legal, Product, Marketing, and Sales — sometimes even more than with my own team! It truly takes a village to drive customer success. In my mind, my customer team isn’t just CS; it includes Legal, Product, and Sales too.
How do you experience appreciation for your work?
Pin: For me, client engagement and renewals are the biggest rewards. But sometimes, clients go the extra mile by sharing appreciation notes or even mentioning me to leadership at events, which is always a great feeling.
Internally, our appreciation Slack channel is another highlight. Even if the shoutout isn’t for you, it makes everyone feel valued.
What qualities make someone successful at BRYTER?
Pin: You need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, stay on top of product updates, and — most importantly — be adaptable. Reading the room, whether with colleagues or customers, is a crucial skill.
Also, knowing the broader Legal Tech landscape helps deepen conversations and build credibility. And of course, everyone here is friendly and approachable — let’s keep that going!
