BRYTER GmbH has acquired Lexalgo’s award-winning decision automation engine. BRYTER will integrate the software backed by the European Space Agency (ESA) into its portfolio.
BRYTER announced today that the Lexalgo Core Engine has been acquired from the in Mainz/Darmstadt based company Lexalgo.
Lexalgo was founded in 2013 and was supported by the EU, the State of Hassia and CESAH. Part of the product development was carried out joint with the European Space Agency (ESA) in Darmstadt. The company developed a multi-award-winning decision automation engine, with which companies are able to develop process automation on complex data bases. With the acquisition of the software platform BRYTER is further expanding its no-code app builder product portfolio and intends to make the software accessible to international customers. BRYTER self-service app will thus become the largest European provider of rule-based automation in the legal field.
Both companies proclaimed their intent to continue working closely together in the future. Lexalgo will continue to advise law firms and legal departments on digital transformation and Legal Tech. The implementation of legal automation and the practical implementation of digital strategies remain vital part of the consulting services. Now independent from software development, Lexalgo will broaden its consulting approach and provide its clients with comprehensive advice on all Legal Tech products. Lexalgo’s expertise as a legal operations pioneer should benefit even more customers.
The sale will not only take place through acquisition, but also in part through a management buy-out. Michael Grupp, one of the founders and co-owners of Lexalgo, will also join the purchaser with the acquisition and, as co-owner of BRYTER, will also manage the business of the Berlin based workflow automation company.
Florian Weiland, Managing Partner of Lexalgo, explains: ‘We are pleased to have found a partner in BRYTER GmbH to continue the innovative technology developed jointly with our partners and clients. This ensures that Lexalgo can fully concentrate on the Legal Tech consulting business in the future serving our customers even more comprehensively’.
Michael Grupp, now CEO at BRYTER GmbH, adds: ‘With this deal we have created the opportunity to integrate Lexalgo’s innovative and field-tested software into the BRYTER-AI platform and with a large team to scale it internationally. This enables our customers to develop intelligent systems without programming skills – making complex knowledge digital and interactive, so that knowledge-based professions (lawyers, tax consultants, auditors) finally have a tool that makes digital transformation and automation simple and cost-effective’.
